I wasn't going to say anything, but a comment left on facebook  after the last giveaway has really upset me and I've decided that it's better to have my say than let it nag away at me.
Believe it or not the winner of the last giveaway was the same person who won the giveaway of the potting bench last year.
I didn't realise until I messaged her on facebook and saw her previous messages......to say I was amazed was an understatement....what were the chances of that happening?
But her name was drawn fairly and squarely, so I wasn't going to change the winner.

Then the comment on Facebook......saying in effect could this be possible? was it really chance?

I'm just wondering what possible advantage it could be to me to have the same winner? If I knew Sabrina (the winner) I could have just sent her a Wisteria kit as a gift. To say that I am really affronted that someone has called into question my honesty and sense of fair play is an understatement!

I replied privately to the commenter on face book, and as far as I'm concerned this is the end of it.

Okay rant over........I feel better now....thanks for listening.

Congratulations!!!

And sorry to everyone else, but thank you for entering.......I'll do another giveaway in October.

Kit of the Month and a Giveaway

Hello everyone! I'm back in the world of miniatures having been away to two Flower Shows with my camera. I've had a lovely time, but I'm not missing the 4.30a.m. starts!
Mind you at that time in the morning when you can hear the bird's sing and the show ground is  empty it has a special magic that I know I'm very lucky to experience.

This month's kit is the Pansy Orchid, thought I'd complete the set for all you Orchid lovers out there. It's the usual deal quote AUG13 on any order during the month and the kit will cost £1.75 instead of the usual £3.50.

And now onto the Giveaway! To be in with a chance to win a Wisteria kit just leave a comment under this post, or on my Facebook page and I'll put your name in the hat. The winner will be announced on the 1st September.

This is a very large kit that takes some time to make, but it isn't difficult, I promise!
Thanks for entering and I'll see you again on the 1st September.

Kit of the Month

June is here, and it actually feels a bit warmer! We have a few warmish sunnyish days forecast and I'm itching to get out in the garden to try and tame the bits that I never got round to last year!
A patio garden with a few pots is becoming a more and more attractive thought.

I thought I'd continue with the Orchid theme.......anyone thought about doing a plant hunters room box? This month it's the turn of the Cattleya Orchid, you have a choice of pink or white and if you quote JUN13 on any order the kit is yours for £1.75 instead of £3.50.

Just to let you know that I will be away from 17th June until 4th July and won't be able to post any orders between these dates.
Also July's Kit of the Month will have to wait for my return.

Hope the next month is sunny and warm!!

Kit of the Month

I've chosen 1/12th scale Cymbidium Orchid this month, slightly more challenging compared to last month's Moth orchid. Not in the way it is put together but more in the painting, you can however use very fine felt tip pens if you find these easier to work with.
Choose between Pink, Green or Peach and if you quote MAY13 on any order, the kit is yours for £2.90 instead of the usual £5.80.

I'll leave you with a close up of the flowers.....

Wednesday 3 April 2013

Kit of the Month

Hope you all had a very happy Easter....ate lots of chocolate and generally had a good time.
April's kit of the month is the Moth Orchid in both 1/12th and 1/24th scales.

This is the 1/12th kit, the normal cost is £5.00 quote APR13 on any order this month and receive it for £2.50.
Below is a close up of the flowers, you can use a very fine felt tip pen if you are not comfortable with brush and paint.

And here is the 1/24th kit, the normal price is £3.70, so it will be £1.85 if you quote APR13.

I'm still waiting for Spring! Is anyone else thinking that this winter is never going to end? The sun has shone for two days here but it is still so cold..........hurry up warmer weather!!

Sunday 3 March 2013

Kit of the Month

Hello everyone! Not sure what happened to February.....it went by in a flash before I managed to sort out kit of the month!

So here we are in March with a new kit of the month and a new idea.........Susanne Lind from Denmark wrote to me and asked if it would be possible to save on postage by sending out Kit of the Month every 3 months? (thank you for the idea Susanne)!

So this is how it will work:

When you order your Kit of the Month tell me you want to join the 3 month club.

I will then send you a paypal money request for the kit without postage.....which you pay.
Your name will go on the 3month club list with the kit you have ordered.
The same will happen the next month.......paypal money request for that month's kit with no postage.....which you pay.
On the third month I will send you a paypal money request for that month's kit plus postage....which you pay, if you want to add any normal priced kits at this point you may do so.
I'll then send you your kits and you only pay one lot of postage.

Just to remind you of my postage rates:

UK   £1.50
Europe £2.00
Rest of the World £3.00

If you want to add pots or sundries to your order add another £1.50 to all these rates.

Hope this hasn't confused you......if you want to order kit of the month as normal that's fine too.

So here we have March Kit of the month.......Aquilegia.

You have a choice of colour, either pink/cream or lilac/yellow. The normal price is £6.30 quote MAR13 on any order and pay £3.25.

I don't know if many of you know I have another blog http://beau-papier.blogspot.co.uk which is mainly my photos of real flowers, which you may find useful when making miniature ones, please come and visit!

Kit of the Month

Happy New Year!!!!

Something special this month.......a kit I'm very proud of. Yes it is a lot of work, but the results are worth it.
This bay tree works just as well outside a cottage or a grand house.......actually you might want a pair outside the door of a grand house. And now you can because the kit is half price!

Just quote JAN13 on your order and the kit will cost £4.00 instead of the usual £8.00. You will need brown florist's tape to finish the trunk.......or you can use green and paint it, as you have to paint the branches anyway.
Here's a closer view showing all those leaves you'll have to stick on!!!!

Oh yes, I shall be at The City of London Dollshouse Festival on Sunday 27th January with all the kits, so please come and say hello if you are visiting. Until then it's punch, punch, snip, snip until I'm cross eyed!!!
